Something about us...

Dogs has always been near to my heart. When I was younger I knew more about working dogs.  The first irish wolfhound came 2002. New rase and new hobbie... I had lots of things to learn. As a surprise for me too I interested in breeding. I took a breeders basic course year 2005. At the same year I got my kennelname Oscailte. Oscailte is Irish language and it means same as english word open.

From the beginning  we partisipated in all kinds of  happenings. Suddenly we find out that we were active part in Finnish Irish Wolfhound Club. Sami has been webmaster in Irish Wolfhound Clubs website. Now he has withdrawn from that job.  Sami is so curious that he began to count IW's showpoints beside offical countinter, for his own fun. Later he began to count offical showpoint of IW in Finland. He counted IW showpoints till the end of year 2011. For some time Sami took part of Scottish Deerhunds show points counting and helped them with their website.

Sami is interested in dogshows. He set up a internet site IW's resultboard in 2006. Resultboards purpose is to collect there all the IW's dogshow results. IW's owners send results to Sami and Sami put them to internet. Sami publish IW's showpoints in there too. Resultboard is not that active anymore because Finnish Kennel Club publish nowadays (2012) all he show results quite quickly on their database DogNet.

After many coincidences in the end of year 2006 Sami ended up to lay out IW magazine. After all I became a chief editor and Sami became a lay outer. We did our Magazine till the end of year 2009. I was also head editor and Sami did layout to our IW clubs 40th year Anniversary book. Now we are working with 45th Anniversary book.

Our first Irish Wolfhound: Whitefang Eternity "Hemmo" came us in 2002. Before Hemmo we had german shephard Ninjan Werner "Wellu". Wellu died for twisted stoach in summer 2005 at the age of 10. At same summer we moved in country. In autumn 2005 came  Hertta-Ässän Dileas "Julle". In next March we got Hemmos sisters girl  Whitefang Feme of Oscailte "Wiivi". Wiivi was very beautiful girl. Unfortunately Wiivi had so bad growing disorders that we had to make hard decision. Wiivi was put to sleep 6 month of age in autumn 2006. After that swedish breeder offer us IW male. We considered that offer long and hard. Eventually we get that puppy from Sweden. That hansome male was Sall'bazz Tor "Ukko". Unfortunatelly we lost Ukko trgically in the age of 3 years. Ukko was killed by the kick of moose.

So I have this dream to became a breeder. Now I only missed an bich. That good bich was foud near. Spring 2007 came  Sapwood's Amusing Autumn "Mimmi". In December 2008 we brought from Slovakia to Finland beautiful bitch, Gaynor Roan Inish "Myrna". Myrna is co owned by me and Riitta Toivonen, Kennel Whitefang.

2010 we imported from Czech rebublic a handsome male Escape to Oscailte Really Irish, Emil. Emil was co owned with me and Antti Taskula. Emil lived with Antti but unfortune life situation Emil moved with us in the summer 2011. So there was enough speed then. In the beginning of year 2011 Myrna gave birth Oscailte Cara litter. The only bitch: Ciia, Oscailte Cara Cinnie stayed at home. It didn't take long for Ciia got only three days youger friend from Germany. Beautiful bitch Dodo, Dorothy di Castello Berge moved with us from Germany.
